70 miles northeast of New Orleans, on 26 acres of pine forests, fields and ponds, sits Studio in the Country, one of the country’s historic recording studios. Studio in the Country opened in 1973 and began producing classics including Kansas’s gold & platinum albums Masque, Leftoverture and Point of Know Return, Stevie Wonder‘s Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants, The Neville Brothers’ iconic Meters–backed Fiyo On The Bayou and others.
In 2010 renovations were completed on the studio house, and the recording console was upgraded to a fully-restored Neve 8068 (circa 1975). Recent projects have included Beach House, The Revivalists, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Ani Difranco, Eric Lindell, The Afghan Whigs, Anders Osborne, Garage à Trois , Dash Rip Rock, Supagroup, Cyril Neville, and Grammy® nominees The Moorings, by Andrew Duhon (Best Engineered Album, Trina Shoemaker) and Grand Isle by Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys (Best Regional Roots Music Album).
